Xiaomi Mi A3 was first launched in mid-July 2019 and has since started selling in several markets in Europe, Asia and more recently, Nigeria, but there are still no signs of the device’s availability in Kenya.
Sure, Avechi Kenya has the device in stock going for Kshs 25,000 for the base model of 4/64GB, but Xiaomi Kenya hasn’t started selling the Mi A3 around here. It’s only them that can declare the device official in Kenya.
Ahead of last month’s opening of the Mi Store in Nairobi’s CBD, Xiaomi Kenya gave the impression that the Mi A3 was on the way into the country. The device was put up for pre-order alongside the Mi TV, but as we all know, this never materialized.
Xiaomi Kenya later revealed that the Mi TV 4X Pro will be coming in the country soon and while it doesn’t mention any specific dates, at least the Mi TV’s impending arrival got to be highlighted once again separately. This hasn’t been the case for the Mi A3, which is causing concern among fans.
How much is the Xiaomi Mi A3 and is it available at the moment in your store?

In response to the above query that was raised mid-August, Xiaomi Kenya’s Twitter handler claimed the Mi A2 successor would be here before the end of the month, yet here we are. As I write this, we don’t have word on when this device will be made available locally, so we wait.
In Nigeria, the Mi A3 is going for ₦71,900 for the base model while the 128GB storage option is priced at ₦79,900. When converted, these figures are roughly equivalent to Kshs 20,500 and Kshs 23,000, respectively.
