Nokia 1 receiving Android 10 (Go edition) update

HMD Global’s entry-level smartphone, the Nokia 1, is receiving its last major software update: a bump up to Android 10.

The device which was unveiled in February 2018 and made available locally 2 months later, over 2 years ago, arrived running the Go edition of Android Oreo. It received its Android 9 Pie upgrade a year ago.

The update, which is currently rolling out in first wave markets, clocks in at about 860 megabytes and includes the June 2020 security patch while bringing the rest of the Android 10 features like a universal dark mode, to users of the device.

It also arrives with the updated applications meant for use with Android Go like the GalleryGo app.

With the Nokia 1 out of the way, the other devices earmarked for an upgrade this quarter, going by HMD Global’s revised update roadmap, are the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1.
