Good news LG G4 and LG V10 users, LG has committed to updating your smartphones later this year to Android Nougat.

LG had previously indicated that it would not be updating either of the two devices to Android 7. The LG G4 and LG V10 were released back in 2015 and are either past the guaranteed 18-24-month update window or on the brink of eclipsing it.

According to a Korean news publication, the company is citing “respect for consumers’ right to choose” as the reason for its change of heart.

LG has not revealed the specific release dates for the two device’s Nougat update worldwide but a second half and third quarter release for users of the G4 and the V10 respectively in its home market of Korea is expected.
