Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 now available for pre-order, costs Kshs 17,000

Huawei has today officially announced the availability of its latest budget smartphone, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018.

The announcement coincides with the start of the pre-order period through online retailer Kilimall, the exclusive seller of the device online.

On Kilimall, those interested in getting the Y7 Prime 2018 can pay part of the Kshs 16,999 asking price, Kshs 777, to pre-order it (link) and clear the remaining amount between 19th and 25th April.

It is on the 19th of April that the device will officially go on sale countrywide. Those who will not be able to buy it from Kilimall online will be able to do so through the various authorized dealers countrywide.For those ordering it from offline retail shops, the pre-order deposit is Kshs 2,000.

Kilimall and Huawei partnered for a promotion that will see lucky fans walk away with the Y7 Prime 2018.

According to a statement from the company, Huawei is targeting young consumers who “technology is central to their lifestyles, but most of today’s flagship devices on the market are beyond their reach due to their high prices.”

The Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 boasts of a 5.99-inch FullView display which, thanks to its 18:9 aspect ratio, has a 12.5% more display area than traditional 16:9 display panels. The extra screen real estate is also being touted by Huawei as being perfect for split-screen multitasking when the device’s Split-Screen Mode is activated.

Other impressive features of the device include the promised all-day battery life, face unlock, the camera’s Augmented Reality features thanks to its dual setup and a three-card slot that removes the need for users to have to pick between expanding storage space and enjoying the calm of having two different SIMs.

As noted earlier, specifications of the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 are as follows:
