OPPO Kenya is stepping up its game.

Hot on the heels of launching the Reno12 series in the country albeit with a couple of copyright controversies, the tech giant has officially opened a new exclusive brand store at Sarit Centre, Nairobi, marking a major milestone in its Kenyan journey. And what better way to celebrate than by launching the sleek new OPPO A3 series alongside it?

New store, new vibes

The new OPPO store is not just a retail space — it’s an experience hub where fans can get hands-on with the latest OPPO tech, enjoy exceptional customer service, and be part of the OPPO family. “We are thrilled to expand our presence in Kenya with the opening of our new exclusive brand store at Sarit Centre,” said Fredrique Achieng, PR Manager at OPPO Kenya. “This strategic move reflects our dedication to providing Kenyan consumers with access to the latest OPPO technology and exceptional customer service.” So, if you’re strolling through Sarit Centre, be sure to swing by and check it out.

The OPPO A3 series unveiled

Coinciding with the store opening is the debut of the OPPO A3 series, which includes the OPPO A3 and A3x. These devices are tailored for consumers who crave style, performance, and value without breaking the bank. They come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen1 Mobile Platform, a long-lasting 5,100mAh battery, and 45W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charge, ensuring your phone keeps up with your life for at least four years — no need to keep searching for a power outlet.

The phones flaunt military-grade shock resistance and an array of eye-catching colors, from the glittering Sparkle Black to the stunning Starry Purple for the A3, and the vibrant Nebula Red and Ocean Blue for the A3x. Plus, thanks to the OPPO Glow process, those pesky fingerprints on the back should be a thing of the past. Below is a summary of the key specs. As expected, the duo has ColorOS 14 pre-installed, but it should be in line for the update to ColorOS 15 scheduled to launch next month.

Pricing puzzle: What’s the real deal?

Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the prices. If you’ve been keeping an eye on OPPO Kenya’s social media, you might be scratching your head over the numbers being thrown around. First, a press release quoted the OPPO A3x starting at Kshs 17,999 and the A3 at Kshs 29,999. However, in an email update sent to Android Kenya, OPPO Kenya revised the starting price for all A3 series phones to Kshs 14,999.

Just to make things even more interesting, a recent post on X from OPPO Kenya threw in another number, stating that prices for the A3 series start at Kshs 15,999.

So, what’s the real cost? Well, a quick peek at OPPO’s official website clears things up:

  • The OPPO A3x 4/64GB variant is priced at Ksh 14,999, while the 4/128GB variant goes for Ksh 17,999.
  • The OPPO A3’s 6/128GB model is available at Ksh 23,999, and the high-end 8/256GB version is priced at Ksh 29,999.

So there you have it — your definitive price guide straight from the source.

To sweeten the deal, OPPO is offering exclusive opening week gifts to anyone purchasing an OPPO device at the new Sarit Centre store. The promotion runs from September 20th to 27th, so don’t miss out on a chance to grab a new OPPO device and snag some goodies on the side.
