Samsung confirms One UI 7.0 stable update to roll out in April, beta expands to more devices

Ahead of the stable release, Samsung is also broadening its One UI 7.0 Beta Program to include a wider range of devices.

Samsung has officially announced that the stable version of One UI 7.0, powered by Android 15, will begin rolling out to eligible Galaxy devices within April 2025. This news, paired with the expansion of the One UI 7.0 Beta Program to more devices, brings clarity to the update timeline that Samsung fans have been eagerly awaiting.

Stable release kicks off in April

According to Samsung, the stable One UI 7.0 update will first land on the Galaxy S24 series, with older and mid-range devices to follow in the subsequent weeks or months. This aligns with Samsung’s usual practice of prioritizing its latest flagship models for major software updates. The rollout in April 2025 marks the official debut of Android 15 on Galaxy devices, promising a refreshed user interface, enhanced features, and improved performance.

Beta program expands to more devices

Ahead of the stable release, Samsung is broadening its One UI 7.0 Beta Program to include a wider range of devices. The Galaxy S24 series has been testing the beta since December 2024, with three updates already released and a couple more expected before the stable version arrives. Now, additional devices are joining the beta, including:

  • Galaxy A55
  • Galaxy S23 series
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Galaxy Tab S10 series

This move allows more Galaxy users to preview One UI 7.0 and provides Samsung with valuable feedback to refine the software before its official launch. However, similar to previous One UI beta programs, Kenyans are excluded.

While Samsung has pinned the global rollout to early April 2025, it’s worth noting that the company typically staggers its updates based on regions. This introduces some uncertainty for Kenyan users who are eager to get their hands on the stable update.

Interestingly, a leaked timeline from a Samsung Romania Zoom call, which we covered earlier, suggested that the stable One UI 7.0 update might begin in mid-April. The slight discrepancy between this leak and Samsung’s official early April date could reflect regional variations in the rollout schedule. Historically, Samsung often launches updates in key markets like South Korea first, before gradually expanding to other regions, including Africa.

For Kenyan Galaxy S24 owners, this means the stable One UI 7.0 update might arrive closer to mid-April 2025 or shortly thereafter, rather than right at the start of the month. While the official timeline sets the stage, regional delays could push the update’s arrival in Kenya by a couple of weeks — a pattern we’ve seen with previous Samsung rollouts.
