The Galaxy Z TriFold is a bigger Galaxy Z Fold 7, and its biggest selling point is that it can be unfolded into a 10-inch display, which is definitely tablet territory.

On the inside, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, backed by 16 GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1 TB of storage. It has a 3-cell battery system with a total capacity of 5,600mAh. It supports fast wired charging up to 45W and wireless charging up to 15W.

The Galaxy Z TriFold’s main attraction is the 10-inch AMOLED folding screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1584 pixels, which translates to a PPI of 269. This has a peak brightness of 1600 nits and has an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz.
The cover screen is a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2580 x 1080 and a higher PPI of 422. This display can go up to 2600 nits, which is brighter than the internal screen and also has an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz.

Due to its tri-fold nature, the Galaxy Z TriFold is 12.9 inches thick when folded, but is amazingly thin at 3.9mm while unfolded. The cover screen is made from Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic ,2 and the back is made from Ceramic Glass Fiber reinforced polymer. Samsung says the hinge is made from “Titanium Hinge Housing and Advanced Armor Aluminium Frame” and judging from Samsung’s past, you can bet it is pretty tough.
The cameras on the Galaxy Z TriFold are the same ones you find on the Fold 7. You get the same excellent main 200MP main camera, the 12MP ultrawide camera and the 10MP telephoto camera. The coverscreen selfie camera is a 10MP and the main screen one is the same as well, but the main screen one is a little bit wider with a FOV of 100˚ instead of the 85˚ FOV on the coverscreen one.
Connectivity is pretty solid with support for 5G, Wi-Fi7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It ships with Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8 on top. The Galaxy Z TriFold ships in one colour “Crafed Black” which strange, which means Samsung is not expecting to sell a lot of these units.
Samsung is expecting the Galaxy Z TriFold to be available for purchase in Korea on December 12ths this year, followed by other markets which is China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE and then the US. They also did not mention the price, but knowing the fact that the Fold 7 starts at $1,999, the TriFold might for for $2,999 or even higher.
When you look at the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, you are reminded of the Huawei Mate XT. Huawei made a huge splash last year with the Mate XT’s trifold design, crazy styling and even a crazier price of around $2,800.
