Huawei Kenya has today announced the availability, soon, in the market of a new colour option of its latest mid-range smartphone, the Huawei Y9 2019.

The special limited edition “Purple Effect” variant of the Y9 2019, is expected to go on sale locally in 2 weeks or thereabouts, about a month since the company opened up pre-orders for the standard variant of the device.

As per our knowledge of the matter, the “Purple Effect” Y9 2019’s pricing remains the same as that of the other available colour options of the device. Limited units of the device will be made available when it goes on sale.

It is also not the first shade of purple for the Y9 as the Aurora Purple colour option has been in the market since day 1 alongside the Sapphire Blue (like the one we’ve had) and Midnight Black.

According to a statement released by Huawei Kenya 2 weeks ago, the Huawei Y9 2019 managed to surpass the company’s pre-order target by 140%, scoring over 2,000 pre-orders both online (via Jumia) and offline (in partner retail stores across the country).
