Telegram rolls out encrypted group calls, business automation, and gift upgrades

Telegram just dropped a feature-packed update that’s all about giving you more control, security, and fun — from super-secure group calls to fully automated business accounts and a sprinkle of gift-giving magic. Here’s a breakdown of the coolest stuff in the latest release, so you can jump right in and make the most of it.

End-to-end encrypted group calls

Remember when group calls meant juggling invites, group chats, and a mild headache? Not anymore. Telegram now lets you start spontaneous, end-to-end encrypted group calls without creating a group chat first. That means you can huddle with your coworkers, family, or friends in a fully private space — instantly.

You can add up to 200 people to a call, share video, audio, or your screen, and invite others using a link or QR code. And yes, you can verify your call’s encryption status using… emojis. If everyone sees the same four emojis, your call is locked down tight — no eavesdroppers, not even Telegram itself.

Telegram Business gets fully automated

If you’re using Telegram Business, things just got a whole lot smarter. Businesses can now fully automate their accounts with AI chatbots, making it easier to handle messages, manage profiles, post stories, and even control transactions — all on autopilot.

New granular permissions let you choose exactly what your bot can do. Whether it’s editing your profile pic, posting a story, or zapping spam messages, it’s all in your hands.

Gifting gets a glow-up

Telegram’s blockchain-powered Gifts have already taken off, with users exchanging over 10 million gifts monthly. And now, you can personalize the experience even more. Add a ‘Gift’ button to your chat input field, control which gifts show up on your profile, and pick what kinds of gifts you’re open to receiving — including exclusive ‘Unique’ or ‘Limited-Edition’ items.

You can even pin gifts, wear them as part of your status, or transfer them to friends or your wallet.

Got banned? You can now appeal

Telegram’s anti-spam systems are strong, but even the best AI can fumble. If your account gets flagged, you won’t be thrown out in the cold right away. Instead, you’ll enter a ‘frozen’ state where you can’t message people but can submit an appeal. If you weren’t actually misbehaving, you might just get your account unfrozen and return to Telegram society with a clean slate.

Gestures that actually save time

Forwarding posts from channels is now a one-finger flick away. Just hold down the share arrow, drag to your Saved Messages or a contact, and release. iOS users get an extra bonus: swipe right on the stories list to instantly open the story editor.

From privacy-first group calls to gifts you can show off like rare collectibles, Telegram’s latest update adds real depth to how you chat, share, and connect. Whether you’re a casual user or a business pro, there’s something here to make your Telegram experience a little faster, safer, and a lot more fun.
