Over a year since its last major upgrade – to Android 9 Pie – the Nokia 3.1 Plus is getting another update, the long-awaited jump to Android 10.

Going by HMD Global’s revised update schedule, the device was the only remaining one for its timeline that was yet to get the update. Now, the company can focus its resources on the next devices on the timeline from its second-generation smartphone lineup (the remaining .1s). This will be that lineup’s last major update. So, all those restless Nokia 5.1 Plus users can rest easy.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus’ update clocks in at 1.24GB and is available at first in the usual first wave markets and should be rolling out to everyone by month’s end. The update arrives with the April 2020 patch.

An Android One device that is guaranteed such updates, the Nokia 3.1 Plus has been available in Kenya since the start of 2019, bringing to the market, at the time, a much-needed alternative to enjoy VoLTE calls on.
