We are just a few weeks to the start of the official rollout of Android 12, the next version of Android.
Will your device receive it? That might be the question in the heads of many Android users who care about updates. For a while, it will be hard to answer. However, some device makers, starting with those that have had their devices enrolled to the public beta testing program to those that are running their own tests away from the public’s prying eyes, are bringing hope every time news of what they are doing either leaks or is made public by them.
The latest such device maker is Xiaomi, who we are focusing on here.
Note:
- As indicated in the title above, this list is not official and is drawn from a number of sources and includes devices that are currently running test builds of Android 12 from Xiaomi.
- As is often the case, a device being included in internal or even public testing of a new version of Android doesn’t necessarily mean that it will automatically get in. Neither does it mean that devices that are not part of any beta program won’t receive an upgrade to a newer version of Android.
With that out of the way, here is the list:

It goes without saying that all the devices listed above, should they make the jump to Android 12, they will be running the modified version of the latest Android version with Xiaomi’s own taste, style and features, MIUI. In this case, that will be MIUI 13, taking over from the MIUI 12 that has been the apex of the Xiaomi user experience since last year.
Not on the list?
Notable omissions from the Android 12 party include the popular Redmi K20 series smartphones and the Redmi 9 series devices sold outside China. However, since Xiaomi is, well, Xiaomi, all hope is not lost.
As Xiaomi has done in the past, there is a possibility of the devices not appearing in the above list still getting many of the goodies and feature upgrades making their way to their counterparts. This is because Xiaomi has traditionally made a point of separating its MIUI overlay from Android versions, making it possible to run newer MIUI versions on dated Android versions.
