As expected, Oppo has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the Reno8 T, in the Kenyan market.
The smartphone, which comes in both 4G and 5G variants, like other Reno devices made available in the local market in recent times, has competitive pricing to boot.
The 4G variant is priced at Kshs 38,000 while the 5G variant is going for Kshs 50,000.
This is a drop from the price of the other members of Oppo’s Reno8 series.
When they were launched last year, the 4G and 5G variants of the Reno8 went for Kshs 43,000 and 60,000 respectively.
Oppo has opened pre-orders for the Reno8 T which run from today, February 17th to Tuesday, February 28th.
Pre-orders can be made through Oppo’s e-commerce partner Kilimall as well as offline at Oppo-branded retail outlets.
The company is promising pre-order customers a gift with their orders.
As we have previously captured, these are the features and specifications of the Oppo Reno8 T:
5G model
A 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 695 5G chipset from Qualcomm and a 4,800mAh battery with support for the 67W Super VOOC fast charger included in the box that takes it from 0 to 100% in three-quarters of an hour. There’s a choice of 128GB and 256GB onboard storage to pair up with the standard 8GB RAM.
There is a 108-megapixel main camera at the back backed by a pair of 2-megapixel microscope and depth sensors. On the front is a 32-megapixel camera.
4G model
A 6.43-inch Full HD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging and the same choice of memory and internal storage options as its 5G sibling.
In place of the hero 108-megapixel sensor that headlines the 5G model, the 4G model gets a 100-megapixel sensor that is coupled with the same secondary sensors as its pricier sibling.
Both devices are powered by Android 13, obviously, with Oppo’s custom overlay, ColorOS, on top.
Both devices come in Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black colour options.
Unveiled alongside the Reno8 T is a new pair of Oppo earbuds, the Enco Buds2. They are going for Kshs 3,000.
They boast of AI-powered noise cancellation, a 460mAh battery in their charging case (they have 40mAh cells each by themselves) that guarantees up to 28 hours of listening time, IP5X dust and IPX4 water resistance, and a Bluetooth range of 10 metres. A double-tap-to-launch camera feature is also built into the earbuds.
