Fresh from being announced in the Chinese market, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has become the first phone available for purchase packing the new Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset. This comes a week after the device was first teased in a Weibo post, and is expected to make its way to the international market in the coming few months rebadged as the Poco F5.
The new Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset is made for the midrange market. However, since the chip is essentially an under-clocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 but made by TSMC instead of Samsung, benchmarks put the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 right alongside the older flagship chip, even beating it in some benchmark tests.
To go with the impressive chipset for a middle-ranger, are the equally impressive RAM and storage options. The base variant of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. However, you can get the device with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage if your needs call for such amounts of storage space.
Taking a look at the appearance of the smartphone, just like the other members of the Redmi Note 12 series, it features a 6.67-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
At the front is a 16 MP shooter for your selfie and video calling needs, while the rear features a triple camera set-up consisting of a main 64 MP sensor, an 8 MP sensor for ultrawide shots and a 2 MP sensor for macro shots.
You get the device running MIUI 14 out of the box, based on Android 13. The 67 W fast charging is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery that will take less than an hour to get it to full charge from 0%.
Taking the performance of the chipset powering the Redmi Note 12 Turbo into consideration, it has the potential to be one of the best value-for-money devices we will see this year. Take a look below for the pricing details;
