Effective today, Airtel Money users are now able to transact up to Kshs 150,000 in a single transaction.
“The change in the per transaction limit comes after successful engagements with the CBK and against the backdrop of the recent review of daily transaction limits from Kshs 300,000 to Kshs 500,000,” Airtel says in a statement.
“Transaction charges for this band shall remain similar to those that were previously charged in the Kshs 70,001 – Kshs 150,000 band. With the increase of the per transaction limit,” the company adds.
Just a few days ago, Airtel joined Safaricom in raising the amount of money that users of its mobile money service, Airtel Money, could transact on any given day as well as hold in their mobile money wallets to Kshs 500,000. However, at the time, the single transaction limit of Kshs 150,000, introduced in 2020, remained.
