Kenya’s tech shopping scene is heating up as Black Friday slowly creeps in, and if you’ve been dreaming of a bigger and smarter TV experience, now’s the time to make your move. Several TCL smart TVs powered by Google TV/Android TV are currently on discount, offering entertainment lovers the chance to bring home a top-tier viewing experience for less.

TCL 50-inch P635 4K HDR Google TV

This stunning 50-inch beast is perfect for anyone looking to elevate their living room setup. With 4K Ultra HD resolution, you’ll enjoy crisp, detailed visuals that make your favorite shows and movies pop. Usually retailing at Kshs 50,000, it’s now going for Kshs 40,699 on Jumia, a serious bargain. Meanwhile, on Kenya’s TCL Brandshop, the TV has also seen a drop to Kshs 44,000.

Specs and features:

  • 50-inch 4K Ultra HD display with HDR10 support
  • Google TV/Android 11 TV OS for seamless streaming
  • Frameless design for a sleek look
  • 1 RJ45 ethernet port
  • Digital Noise Reduction
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Wi-Fi:  802.11a, 802.11ac, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n
  • Built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast
  • Access to Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and more

Check out full specs here.

TCL 43-inch P635 4K HDR Google TV

For those who want something a little smaller and less costlier, the 43-inch variant is also on sale. On Jumia, it’s priced at Kshs 30,299 (down from Kshs 39,999), while on the TCL Brandshop, it’s Kshs 33,000.

Specs and features:

  • 43-inch 4K Ultra HD display with HDR
  • Powered by Google TV for a smooth user interface
  • Supports voice control with Google Assistant
  • Slim, frameless design

TCL S5400 FHD smart TV series (43-inch and 32-inch)

If 4K isn’t a priority, the TCL S5400 series offers Full HD resolution with all the smart features you need. Powered by Android TV, these TVs provide seamless access to your favorite streaming apps.

  • The 43-inch model is now selling at Kshs 25,999 on Jumia. On the TCL Brandshop, it’s Kshs 29,000.
  • The 32-inch model on Jumia goes for Kshs 21,999 (with a free bracket and TV guard) or Kshs 18,099 without the freebies. The same model on TCL Brandshop costs Kshs 21,999 without any of the freebies offered by Jumia.

Here’s a summary of the specs for both TVs:

  • Full HD Android TV
  • Bluetooth
  • Dolby Audio
  • Access to Google Play Store, Netflix, YouTube, etc.
  • Bluetooth
  • HDR feature
  • Chromecast built-in
  • Digital tuner

Check out full specs of the 32-inch and 43-inch models on the official website. Notably, I haven’t personally used these TVs, but my guess is that the entry-level models might be equipped with a nerfed version of the Android TV/Google TV experience. But this is just a hunch based on history, so be sure to let us know your experience in case you buy one of these.

Also worth noting is that while the deals on Jumia are unbeatable, they won’t last forever. Plus, stock may run out quickly. So if you’ve been eyeing a smart TV running Google TV/Android TV, now’s the time to act.
