Snapchat has been installed over half a billion times from the Play Store

Snapchat has been installed over half a billion times from the Play Store
FacebookTwitterWhatsApp

Confession: I don’t use Snapchat, never have and not thinking about changing that anytime soon.

Now that we have that out of the way, it is interesting to note that it is not a sentiment shared by many who use Android devices daily. At least not the over 500,000 who have taken to the Play Store these last few years to enjoy the ephemeral teenage sensation that has the likes of Facebook panicking and resorting to copying its every feature.

Even with the half a billion milestone being achieved, the app is still far from being perfect with many users constantly noting how inferior the Snpachat experience is on Android devices when compared with iPhones (Snap admitted that its app is inferior on droids as compared to iPhones – WTF?).

Maybe these numbers will get the Snap team to focus more on the Android user base even as they continue pouring champagne to celebrate the successful listing of their company this past week. Maybe then will they count on me signing up as a user.
