Snapchat has been installed over half a billion times from the Play Store
FacebookTwitterWhatsApp

Snapchat Android users have something to get excited about: they no longer need to part with money in order to use dark mode on the app.

Dark mode was one of the features put behind a paywall that would let users unlock Snapchat+, Snapchat’s premium subscription tier which included, among others, custom icons and badges.

The app’s users are reporting on social media of the appearance of dark mode in their app appearance selections despite them not being paying subscribers.

In order to get dark mode on Snapchat for free, your app needs to be updated to the latest version. You might also need a little bit of luck since Snapchat is yet to officially confirm the feature’s availability to everyone and its website still lists it as a premium feature.
