Over six years since it introduced video calling, WhatsApp is now allowing users can to do presentations from their smartphones during video calls.
This is the case after the exit from beta and into the main stable app of the screen-sharing feature that WhatsApp had been testing for a while.
The feature, which is available on both mobile devices as well as on desktop-centric ones like on PCs where users are using the WhatsApp app, is accessible through the ‘Share’ icon on the bottom bar when one is on a video call.
Users can choose to share a specific app or an entire screen, just like they would do on a video call on another platform like Zoom or Google’s Meet app.
To stop screen-sharing, one clicks the same icon.
