If you are in the market for a phone with high-end hardware specs akin to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL – or even better – but priced more affordably, LeEco Le Pro 3 is worth looking at.
A product of China’s LeEco, formerly LeTV, LeEco Le Pro 3 is one of the best phones you can find on the market based on the specs and features it offers. It’s a high-end phone from late 2016, which means it packs high-end specs and features as well. In fact, this phone has better hardware when compared to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, two phones that are not easy to bump into here in Kenya and if lucky, the price will scare you off.
For the uninitiated, the LeEco Le Pro 3 has a 5.5-inch LCD display screen with a Full HD resolution. The processor under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 clocked at 2.35GHz, the best smartphone processor in 2016. This is then paired with a massive 6GB RAM alongside 64GB of non-expandable storage, a package that can only be matched by the OnePlus 3 and 3T.
In terms of photography, the Le Pro 3 has a 16MP lens on the back with an aperture of f/2.0, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash and support for 4K video recording. The front has an 8MP lens with a slightly smaller aperture of f/2.2, but you still get to record up to 1080p videos.
LeEco was among the first companies to release a phone that has no 3.5mm audio jack and the Le Pro 3 is among them. This means you’ll have to use the USB Type-C port for audio connectivity. The battery keeping the phone alive is massive at 4070mAh and to ensure it doesn’t take ages to charge from 0 to 100%, there’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
LeEco has a poor track record when it comes to software updates. Which isn’t strange when a phone like the Le Pro 3, which was released in October 2016, has not yet received an update to Android Nougat. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and there’s no mention of when – or if – it will be updated to the new OS.
Other features of the LeEco Le Pro 3 include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE and dual-SIM connectivity, among others. And for the most important part, the Le Pro 3 can be yours for a decent Ksh 37,999, a discount of Ksh 3,000 from the original Ksh 40,999. Shop around and you won’t find a phone with the same specs and features yet priced at below Ksh 40,000, which makes this deal even sweeter. But if you enjoy having the latest software on your phone, this deal might not be yours at all.

That website has never had full prices in the years I’ve visited it haha. New products in stock the first time already have discounts, and they seem to have a sale for every month of the year lol
Isn’t that a USP?
Having a sale year round is a USP? Only in Kenya lol
