Tecno Camon 12 series starts selling in Kenya

Over a month since it was officially announced globally, the Tecno Camon 12 series is finally making its way to the local market.

The Tecno Camon 12, Camon 12 Pro and Camon 12 Air offer prospective buyers a choice between the best that Tecno’s Camon lineup has to offer this year.

According to a statement sent by Tecno last evening, the Camon 12 Pro, Camon 12 and Camon 12 Air are going for Kshs 19,499, Kshs 15,499 and Kshs 13,499 respectively at all Tecno brand shops across the country.

Since Tecno’s Camon lineup is known for its focus on the camera, some of the main differentiating features of all the 3 devices also include the camera.

The superior Camon 12 Pro features a 32-megapixel selfie camera with Tecno’s AI infusions while the standard model and the Air pack 16 and 8-megapixel shooters on their fronts respectively. The Air even features a punch-hole for its selfie camera. As a result, the Air misses out on the dual-LED flash that punctuates the sides of the teardrop-style notches on the Camon 12 and Camon 12 Pro which accommodate the front-facing camera.

Other features that set them apart include the battery and the available memory.

The Tecno Camon 12 Pro’s 3,500mAh makes one question the device’s “superior” tag since the other two devices, the standard Camon 12 and the Camon 12 Air, both have bigger 4,000mAh units. However, it recoups all the points when it comes to the installed memory and onboard storage. Not only does it have a whopping 6GB memory, 2 more than can be found on the standard Camon 12, it also has twice the amount of internal storage that the Camon 12 Air packs.

There are also variations in the devices’ display sizes as well as other nitty gritties like fingerprint sensors as can be seen in the spec sheets linked below:

All the 3 devices arrive with ready support for band 28, which is necessary for those that plan to use their JTL Faiba lines on the devices.
