- Open the Google app on your phone
- Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the 3 dots there
- Select Settings
- Select Google Assistant
- Go to the Assistant tab
- Scroll all the way down and, under Assistant devices, select Phone
- Scroll down to the Personalization section and toggle on Ambient Mode
This same process can be used to disable Ambient Mode – by following all the steps to the end then toggling Ambient Mode off.
