Tecno is set to launch one of its newest devices, the Tecno Pouvoir 4, in the local market soon.
Tecno’s Pouvoir lineup has long been known for keeping the company’s budget consciousness while striving to achieve the highest endurance rating possible on a smartphone.
The fourth generation, which has been out for a few weeks in other markets, offers just that; building upon where the Tecno Pouvoir 3 and Tecno Pouvoir 3 Pro left last year.
While we have no information regarding the availability of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 Pro, which we are aware exists elsewhere, we do know that Tecno will be availing the standard variant locally soon.
As usual, the device’s strong endurance rating is front and centre of all the attention.
With a mammoth 6,000mAh battery, the Pouvoir 4 is no slouch even though with such a huge battery that should be a no-brainer, no?
Well, there’s the fact that the Pouvoir 4 enters what was once tablet territory (that Tecno itself covered with its DroiPad lineup of low-cost tablets) with a huge 7-inch display.
“Huge” here is relative since we are already accustomed to 6.x-inch displays unlike 6-7 years ago when they were not a common sight and we even had a special name for phones with displays stretching past the 5-inch mark and encroaching on what was then regarded as tablet territory: phablet. So, to power that big HD+ panel, the big battery comes in handy and a balance between it and the rest of the device’s functionality must’ve obviously been struck (we will find out when it becomes available).
To give you a glimpse of what we are working with when it comes to that 6,000mAh cell, pre-launch marketing material in our possession shows Tecno making the following claims:
- 4-day battery life
- 792 minutes (that’s just over 13 hours) of video playback on a single charge
- Gameplay for 638 minutes (over 10 and a half hours) and
- Recording a vlogging session (in HD, no less) for 516 minutes straight (about 8.6 hours)
That sounds too good, right?
