Tecno is preparing to unveil yet another smartphone series, the Camon 16 series, in Kenya.
The series’ unveiling comes just 4 months since its predecessor, the Camon 15 series, was made available in the local market.
As was the case with the Camon 15 series, we are also staring at at least two devices in the series that will be making their way to the Kenyan market soon.
The first Camon 16 series smartphone to make its way to the country will be the Tecno Camon 16 Premier, which, as the name suggests, will be the series’ crowning jewel.
A standard Camon 16 will be following the Premier in the local market shortly after.
There is no word on whether we will be seeing an “Air” model this time around.
Given that the Camon smartphone series exists solely to bring the best camera experience there is in Tecno’s fold to the budget smartphone segment, the Camon 16 is expected to stick to the same script. As such, going by several teasers, we are expecting to see a 64-megapixel sensor standing out at the back while a 48-megapixel sensor headlines the front.
Even better, to enhance the device’s selfie-taking capabilities, we will be getting a dual-camera setup on the front, a first for Tecno?
What else is there? A high refresh rate display?
Given that Tecno is still tight-lipped when it comes to the devices’ specifications, besides what has managed to leak so far, we’ll have to wait till next week, when we expect the devices to be unveiled locally, to get the full picture.
