A day after the Nokia 3.1 received its Android 10 update, October 8 marked the Nokia 5.1’s turn.

The 2-year-old device is the last among those scheduled to receive the upgrade to Android 10 from HMD Global, its maker.

The Finnish brand has, in all, updated devices cutting across all its product lines with at least 20 smartphones being upgraded to the, until recently, latest version of Android.

The Nokia 5.1 started selling in Kenya in August 2018 and the Android 10 update marks its second, and most probably, final major upgrade having received a bump up to Android 9 Pie from the Android Oreo it shipped with 2 years ago.

As was the case with the Nokia 3.1 2 days ago, users of the Nokia 5.1 in select countries (first wave markets) where the update is being seeded first, will have their devices receiving the upgrade over the next few days with 100% reception expected by Tuesday, October 13th. After that, users in other markets, including Kenya, can begin counting down to when they get the prompt to update their devices over-the-air.
