HMD Global’s Nokia 5.1 is the latest smartphone from the Finnish company to pick up its slice of Android Pie.
According to HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, the long-awaited update is currently rolling out to the device.
Even though we don’t have any further information on the same, users of the device can expect the same features that others have had access to since upgrading their Nokia smartphones to Android 9 Pie.
Those features include the likes of Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, App Actions, gesture navigation, Digital Wellbeing among others.
Nokia 5.1’s Pie update arrives just under a week since Nokia 3.1’s.
The device, which has been available in Kenya since August 2018, has since been succeeded by the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The latter went on sale in the country in November last year and has already picked up its Android 9 update.
By updating the Nokia 5.1, HMD Global has kept its word so far as far as its update timeline goes. The only remaining devices yet to be upgraded to Android Pie, the Nokia 1 and the Nokia 3, are set to be updated in the next quarter.
