Infinix is set to unveil the much-awaited Note 12 series in Kenya at an event in Nairobi on Friday, 27th May. The event will be live .

Headlining the Note 12 series is the Infinix Note 12 VIP model which features the best that the series has to offer. This includes the 120W Hyper Charge that we heard about a while back, a triple-lens camera setup headlined by a 108-megapixel sensor, a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super Light AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 5GB extended RAM and more.

Given the concerns that come with such fast charging, Infinix says that it has built into the device several protection mechanisms that guarantee a safe user experience.

“Keeping ultra-fast charging safe, the smartphone includes 103 charging and battery protection features, which span the entire charging cycle for the charger, circuit and battery. On top of the all-encompassing projection features, the Note 12 VIP also has 18 thermal sensors to monitor the device’s temperature in real-time to ensure that the smartphone charging is always safe. Enhancing the charging benefits even further, the Note 12 VIP uses platinum superconducting material that increases the corrosion resistance of the charging cable for great charging material longevity.”

The Infinix Note 12 series, at least as we will know it in Kenya, comprises three devices: the aforementioned Note 12 VIP, which is the hero device of the series, another model which Infinix is calling the Note 12 G96, perhaps paying homage to its MediaTek Helio G96 chipset, and the Infinix Note 12i. The chipset is used in all the devices, as far as we know.

The Infinix Note 12 G96 appears to be the standard variant in the series with the 12i being the entry-level model.

All three devices have graphene cooling systems and 16-megapixel front-facing cameras.

Where the Note 12 VIP basks in the 120W fast charging and a headlining 108-megapixel image sensor, the Note 12 G96 makes do with 33W fast charging and a 50-megapixel shooter.

The Note 12 G96 settles scores in the battery department with a 5,000mAh sealed unit compared to the Note 12 VIP’s 4,500mAh unit.

The smartphones run on XOS 10.6 which is Infinix’s take on Android 12 which brings with it the standard Android 12 upgrades and experiences as well as Infinix-specific customizations that either mirror existing Android features or are a fresh take exclusive to the Transsion brands. Additionally, the Note 12 VIP comes with Infinix’s own smart assistant, Folax.

Pricing for the three devices will be disclosed at the launch event.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP comes in Cayenne Grey and Force Black colour options while the Note 12 G96 comes in Sapphire Blue, Force Black and Snowfall colour options.

The Note 12i has 4GB RAM while the other two devices have 8GB RAM. While both the Note 12i and Note 12 G96 pack 128GB internal storage, the Note 12 VIP doubles that to 256 gigabytes.
