If you have been thinking Xiaomi could not possibly release another Redmi Note 11 model, think again. The device will reportedly be named Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 and rather than completely being a new device, it will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10 Pro.

This report comes from Xiaomiui, a Xiaomi fan site after going through the IMEI database. Xiaomi has not yet publicly recognized the device, however, the publication has deduced quite a lot of information purely from taking a look at the model number of the mysterious device.

At the moment, there are already five variants of the Redmi Note 11 series available in the global market. This is without the region-specific versions of the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G that is only available in the Indian market. Furthermore, this new Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 is also tipped for a global release, adding to the headache of keeping up with Xiaomi’s convoluted naming scheme.

Xiaomiui explains that the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 has the model number 2209116AG. According to the publication, this model number is the longer version of “K6A” and the “G” at the end indicates that it is intended for the global market.

To add to this, the Redmi Note 10 Pro, also happens to be referred to as “K6” by Xiaomi thereby leading Xiaomiui to believe the “K6A” is a refreshed product of “K6”. Should this turn out to be true, then the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 will be based on the Redmi Note 10 series rather than the other Redmi Note 11 models.

There isn’t any information regarding the device’s specifications, however, the Redmi Note 10 Pro was quite a capable device in its own right and an improvement in one or two areas could make the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 a capable budget-oriented device.

For reference, the Redmi Note 10 Pro was the first model in Xiaomi’s Note series to feature a 108 MP rear camera. The other standout feature included a Snapdragon 732G chipset and a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

As to when the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 will hit our shelves, Xiaomiui goes back to the device’s model number 2209116AG for clues. 22 = 2022, 09 = September, 11-6A = K6A and G = Global. This puts to the timeline for a global release in the coming few days before the end of September.

It will be interesting to see what upgrades, or even downgrades Xiaomi makes to differentiate the new device from the Redmi Note 10 Pro. A downgrade will obviously mean a lower price compared to the Redmi Note 10 Pro, however, an upgrade will make for a more interesting device subject to the pricing the Chinese company settles for.
