After potentially doing away with the Galaxy A7X series, the Galaxy A34 and A54 will shoulder the burden of catering to the midrange market for Samsung. With an expected release period of sometime in March, renders of the two devices have found their way online, detailing how they look and the colour options.
First, the two smartphones clearly take inspiration from the Galaxy S23 series, appearing sleeker in a more simple design language. The backs of the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 appear smooth with the camera bumps of the previous generation being smoothened over, leaving the rear cameras to only protrude slightly.
Furthermore, the number of camera sensors at the back has been reduced to three, with the sensor that was previously used for macro shots being dropped. At the front, the bezels of both the Galaxy A34 and A54 appear slightly bigger than the ones on the A33 and A53, which is interesting.
The biggest design difference between the Galaxy A34 and the A54 is the cutout for the selfie camera. The A54 has an infinity-O cutout, while the A34 features an infinity-U display notch. In terms of colour options, the Galaxy A34 seems to only have two, purple and silver, while the A54 has more namely; black, lime green, purple, and white.
Taking a look at what the two smartphones pack internally, the Galaxy A54 will be powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC and have 8 GB of RAM, which will be supplemented by either 128 GB or 256 GB of storage that can be expanded by the use of a microSD. The Galaxy A34, on the other hand, will feature a chipset from MediaTek, the MediaTek MT6877V, which will be paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM coupled with either 128 GB or 256 GB of expandable storage.
The displays and batteries will largely be the same, Super AMOLED and capable of 120Hz refresh rate, while the batteries are rated 5,000 mAh. If Samsung decides to launch the two devices in early March, they might make an appearance at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona to build up the hype.
