Infinix is set to unveil its latest smartphone series, the Hot 40 series, in Kenya soon. December 15th, to be exact.

The Transsion brand which just announced the said series globally 2 days ago, is looking to renew its youth connection with the device. For a long time, Infinix has sought to serve a more savvy feature-oriented young user base that desired devices with the latest technologies but at a budget.

The Hot 40 series is the successor to the Hot 30 series that it has been selling in the local market since April.

It comes with a host of upgrades over its predecessor that we will be unpacking at launch.

“This new series showcases significant upgrades in processor, display, camera capabilities, and software. While maintaining its leading position in fast charging in its category, it continues to offer a fast and fun experience in mobile gaming and entertainment,” a statement from the company released when the device series was announced globally read.

In line with this youth focus of the new device series, which, as we have seen in our past coverage of the Hot series devices, should be able to offer them the best bang for buck, Infinix is also announcing a dance competition that will see winners walk away with as much as Kshs 400,000.

Dubbed the #HottestDanceChallenge (look up the tag on social media), the top 3 finalists from the competition will compete for the aforementioned prize money during the device series’ unveiling in just over a week’s time. More details are as captured in the banner below (from the look of it, you don’t have much time if you are interested so act fast):

The Infinix Hot 40 series comprises a Pro model, a standard model and an “i” model. We have a few days to find out which ones will be making it to the Kenyan market and their specifics. We have seen a “Play” model make its way later during the life of a Hot series, will we still see it this time?
