Infinix’s Hot series has been updated. As expected, the official launch in Kenya took place on April 7th and, now, the devices can be purchased at retail outlets across the country.

The Infinix Hot 30 series, as the latest series is known, comprises the Infinix Hot 30, Infinix Hot 30i and the Infinix Hot 30 Play.

In other markets, there is the Infinix Hot 30i NFC but that is not available here.

As we have seen in the recent past, the Hot 30i is the entry-level device of the series with the Hot 30 Play being the middle child and the (standard) Hot 30 being the hero device of the series.

Pricing of the three devices is as follows:

  • Infinix Hot 30i – Kshs 15,500
  • Infinix Hot 30 Play – Kshs 18,400
  • Infinix Hot 30 – Kshs 22,900

Infinix Hot 30

The (standard) Infinix Hot 30 features a 6.78-inch Full HD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, it is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, has 8GB RAM (can go all the way to 16GB with virtual extension) and 256GB onboard storage (expandable up to a terabyte), a 50-megapixel main camera that is backed up by an AI sensor and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

It runs on Android 13, obviously with Infinix’s XOS overlay and has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging which sees the device go from zero to just past the halfway mark (55%) in half an hour.

Infinix Hot 30i

The Infinix Hot 30i goes with a 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel also with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Unisoc T606 chipset, a 13-megapixel camera at the back that is accompanied by an AI sensor (2MP) as well and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. There is 4GB RAM that can be cranked up all the way to double the amount virtually and 128GB internal storage that can be expanded by way of a microSD card to a terabyte.

The Hot 30i gets the same battery as the Hot 30 but with 18W fast charging.

Both devices have side-mounted fingerprint sensors.

Infinix Hot 30 Play

Built for work and play as its name suggests, the Infinix Hot 30 Play packs the biggest display of the trio at 6.82 inches and also the biggest battery at 6,000mAh with 18W charging. Like the Hot 30i, it has just 4GB RAM which can also be extended virtually and a choice of either 64 or 128GB onboard storage.
