Leaked reports suggest the global edition of the upcoming Oppo Reno12 and Reno12 Pro models will be powered by MediaTek’s brand-new Dimensity 7300 chipset. This development promises a significant leap in performance, efficiency, and photography capabilities for Oppo’s popular Reno series. But it will differentiate it from its Chinese counterparts, which feature the Dimensity 8250 and Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipsets in the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro models, respectively.

MediaTek recently unveiled its Dimensity 7300 series, boasting impressive upgrades over one of its predecessors, the Dimensity 7050, which powered last year’s Reno11. While the Reno11 offered a decent experience with its 6nm chipset, the Reno12’s Dimensity 7300 is poised to take things to the next level.

According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 7300, built on TSMC’s advanced 4nm process, delivers best-in-class power efficiency, ensuring effortless multitasking and extending battery life compared to its predecessor.

Photography enthusiasts will be thrilled with the Dimensity 7300’s MediaTek Imagiq 950, a premium-grade 12-bit HDR-ISP with support for a staggering 200MP main camera. This doesn’t mean the Reno12 will ship with a 200MP camera, though. Combined with new hardware engines for noise reduction and enhanced HDR, the Reno12 promises transcendent image quality with crispness and clarity in all lighting conditions. Additionally, the chipset accelerates focus and photo remastering, along with enabling 4K HDR video recording with a wider dynamic range.

The Dimensity 7300 doesn’t skimp on display and gaming either. The MediaTek MiraVision 955 supports detailed WFHD+ displays with 10-bit true color, while the combination of MediaTek HyperEngine optimizations, the octa-core CPU with high-frequency cores, and the latest Arm Mali-G615 GPU accelerates gaming experiences with a 20% boost in FPS and enhanced energy efficiency.

Connectivity is also top-notch with the Dimensity 7300, featuring tri-band Wi-Fi 6E for fast and reliable wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, and MediaTek’s exclusive technologies like Lightning Connect and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth hybrid coexistence for seamless operation. Of course, with AI at the heart of the future, the Dimensity 7300 won’t be left behind either.

All in all, the global Oppo Reno12, armed with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, is shaping up to be a formidable contender in the global smartphone arena. With its enhanced performance, extended battery life, exceptional photography capabilities, and the potential for innovative form factors, the Reno12 could very well be the phone to beat in the midrange segment.

While the prospect of the Reno12 is exciting, it’s important to note that this information is based on leaks and unofficial sources. Some details may not be entirely accurate, so we encourage readers to approach this news with a healthy dose of skepticism until Oppo makes an official announcement.
