Samsung Kenya is finally stepping up its online shopping game — and it’s about time. For ages, buying a new Galaxy device directly from the official website has been somewhat of a hassle. But now, it seems like Samsung is making moves that fans (read yours truly) in Kenya have been begging for.
Picture this: you’re drooling over the Galaxy A55 5G on Samsung’s website, admiring the slick design and weighing the benefits of its 5G capabilities. You finally decide it’s time to make a move. But back in the day, that excitement would have been interrupted with a frustrating “Where to Buy” button that led you only to brick-and-mortar stores, as seen in the screenshot below.
Now, Samsung’s website in Kenya has a new section that’s giving shoppers like us exactly what we’ve been asking for — an “Online Store” option.
I wrote a piece back in April about how it didn’t make sense that Brandcart, Samsung’s official retail partner in Kenya, wasn’t directly integrated into Samsung’s local website. It felt like a huge missed opportunity for both Samsung and its fans. Instead of a smooth shopping experience, customers had to jump between different websites just to purchase their beloved Samsung products. Fast forward to now, and we’re seeing some real progress.
Thanks to the new update, Samsung Kenya’s product pages now include links to their online retail partners. And here’s the kicker: it’s not just Brandcart getting the love. In a new twist, Samsung has also teamed up with Jumia Kenya, the biggest e-commerce platform in the country. This means you can now browse Samsung’s website, fall in love with a product, and with one click, be redirected to Jumia to make the purchase. How cool is that?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though — this change isn’t fully rolled out across all products just yet. For example, the newest Galaxy S24 FE, the Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, Galaxy A25 5G, and Galaxy A15 4G, among others, all have direct purchase links on the official Samsung Kenya website. But, weirdly enough, premium models like the Galaxy S24 series and the latest foldables are still missing this feature. It seems Samsung is rolling this out slowly, and it’s only a matter of time before all devices get this seamless shopping option.
Still, this change is a step in the right direction. Samsung is listening, and by making it easier for us to buy their products online, they’re showing that they value the Kenyan market. No more jumping through hoops or scouring the internet for Brandcart — it’s all there, right where it belongs.
For fans like me, this update is a huge win. Now, let’s just hope Samsung keeps up this momentum and integrates the rest of their products soon. It’s about time Samsung Kenya embraced the future of shopping, and this update shows they’re on the right track.
