Xiaomi Kenya has finally broken its silence on the next entry-level king from its Redmi lineup — the Redmi A5 — and yes, it’s officially coming to Kenya.
In a post shared across social media, Xiaomi Kenya teased fans with the announcement in classic cheeky style:

The brand’s excitement is understandable. The A-series phones have historically been a good fit for our local market, with the Redmi A3 series (including the Redmi A3 Pro and Redmi A3x) getting love for its value-for-money combo. Interestingly, Xiaomi skipped bringing the Redmi A4 to Kenya, at least officially — but hey, we’re not complaining. The A5 looks like a worthy step forward.

Xiaomi hasn’t dropped the Kenyan price tag yet, but we’ve got clues. When the Redmi A3 launched in 2024, it was priced at Kshs 11,599, and the more premium Redmi A3 Pro followed soon after.
