Truecaller adds Google Duo integration in latest update to Android app

Back in March, Truecaller, the spam calls and message identifying application that is widely popular for its caller identifying function, announced that it would be integrating Google Duo in coming days. Well, those “coming days” are finally here.

Version 8.31 of Truecaller’s Android app is currently rolling out via the Google Play Store. It includes tight integration with Google’s video chat app.

This means that users of the Truecaller app who already have the Duo app installed need not switch between Truecaller and the app. Instead, they can video-call their contacts directly from Truecaller.

Google Duo integration aside, the app itself has gone through some slimming process. It’s now light-weight (just 7MB) and a feature I have long desired, an option to easily paste a number into the dial-pad, has been added.
