The Infinix Note 4 and the Infinix Note 4 Pro are not worlds apart as far as differences go. In fact, if anything, they have much more in common than they differ. However, they are still two different devices starting from the looks to the pricing. The Note 4 costs slightly under Kshs 15,000 while the Note 4 Pro almost hits the Kshs 20,000 mark.
Design
The Infinix Note 4 features a plastic design with a glossy removable back while the Infinix Note 4 Pro has a metal unibody design with a non-removable battery. As such, there are trays on either side of the device for inserting the microSD card and dual micro SIMs.
While the button arrangement on the two devices is eerily similar, the Note 4 Pro adds a nice touch with a texturized power button, something the Note 4 lacks.
Even though the camera quality on both devices is the same thanks to there being no changes in the modules used, the arrangement on the back of the device is a bit different.
The placement of the 3.5mm headphone jack is also a bit different.
As is that of the faux bottom speaker whose place has been taken by a more visible and prominently-placed microphone.
Under the hood
While the processor and GPU remain the same on both devices, some other changes cannot go unnoticed. The memory has increased by 1GB to top at 3GB while the amount of internal storage has been doubled to 32GB on the Infinix Note 4 Pro.
Low on the gesture craze
While the Infinix Note 4 Pro still keeps a lot of the madness that can be associated with Infinix’s custom software that runs on its devices as XOS, it cuts to size the role played by gestures. By default, they are turned off while other more notable gestures like double tap to sleep/wake and the ability to draw predetermined gestures on the sleeping lock screen to trigger actions have been quietly removed. That’s not the case on the Infinix Note 4 and older devices like the S2 Pro.
Battery
It may not mean much but the slight bump the battery gets from 4,300mAh on the Infinix Note 4 to 4,500mAh on the Infinix Note 4 Pro does go a long way in cementing the status of Infinix’s Note line as king of the endurance camp among quality budget devices.
X-Pen
This is the biggest differentiator of the two devices. The Infinix Note 4 Pro’s biggest draw may be its not-so-well-functioning stylus which the standard model lacks. The X-Pen found in the Note 4 Pro marks the first time that the Chinese mobile device brand has included such a feature but, as hinted by its packaging separate from the device, it stays in the shadows as an accessory that you can possibly live without.
