Latest update to the mySafaricom app brings Bill Manager feature to Blaze users

It’s over a year now since Safaricom updated its mobile app, dubbed mySafaricom, to take care of subscribers belonging to its youth network, Blaze.

During that one year, the mySafaricom app has received a number of updates including the notable one released just days to Christmas last year. That update saw a number of useful features make their way to the Safaricom app. They included mobile loans (KCB M-Pesa and M-Shwari), M-Pesa 1Tap, a data usage tracker that mirrors the Android system’s (that’s why the feature is not available on iOS), a Bill Manager among others.

While some of these features are available to all users of the mySafaricom app, including those that are on the Blaze network, some have been notably missing. Like the Bill Manager, for instance.

The latest update to the app, pushed yesterday and already available through the Play Store (see link below), now brings the Bill Manager to Blaze subscribers as well.

While this shouldn’t be such a big deal since anyone interested in paying their utility and other bills can still do so by either directly keying in the relevant PayBill and account numbers or searching for the former directly from the app, the Bill Manager does simplify all those processes. It lets users save bills, set reminders as well as view those that they pay frequently. All this is now available to the over 2 million youthful subscribers of Safaricom’s sub-brand that has existed for the last two years.

Also included with the update are revamped daily and weekly data bundles.
