Huawei Kenya is seeking to end the year on a high with the impending introduction in the local market of its latest entry-level smartphone, the Huawei Y5 Lite 2018.
As the name insinuates, the device is a small sibling to the Huawei Y5 Prime. That, by all means, indicates that we can expect an even lower price to the Y5 Prime’s Kshs 8,000-9,999 pricing. At the moment, we have no idea how much it will cost and Huawei is doing one of those price guess things on social media.
The Huawei Y5 Lite 2018’s spec sheet and feature set, as you can see below, is nothing to write home about. However, there is one more notable thing about it besides the price (we can expect it to be one of the most affordable Huawei smartphones in the Kenyan market): Android Go.
Yes, the Huawei Y5 Lite 2018 is an Android Go smartphone with the device running the Go edition of Android 8.1, Oreo. This makes it the second Android Go-powered smartphone from the Chinese device maker to enter the local market after the Y3 2018, Huawei’s first ever Android Go device, quietly made its debut in the ongoing Safaricom Open Day.
