At a time when Google and OnePlus are rolling out at least three major Android OS updates to their devices, Samsung has now stepped up to offering at least two major OS upgrades even to budget phones like the Galaxy J3 2017, also known as Galaxy J3 Pro 2017.
Launched with Android Nougat preinstalled, the Galaxy J3 2017 is now receiving its last major OS upgrade that installs Samsung One UI based on Android 9 Pie.
The software has just started rolling out to models SM-J330F and SM-J330G. The changelog is the same for both devices, including the latest July 2019 security patches, but the software version is slightly different. The former is receiving version J330FXXU3CSG6 while the latter is receiving version J330GDXU3CSG7.
So far, the rollout has commenced in Russia and Vietnam but is expected to spread out to other regions like wildfire as long as no bugs are found in the initial rollout. If you own the Galaxy J3 2017 or J3 Pro 2017 for that matter, the update should be heading your way anytime soon.
