Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 9.0 update to the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE, giving the two remaining S25-series phones access to Android 17. The rollout comes shortly after Samsung released the stable update for the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, with South Korea once again getting the software first.
One UI 9 brings a number of changes to Samsung phones, including additional interface customisation, new Galaxy AI features and improvements to existing tools. Samsung says the update introduces features such as My FanCam, which automatically keeps a selected person centred when recording or editing video, while Now Nudge can provide contextual suggestions from conversations and notifications. The update also adds custom cards to Now Brief and other changes aimed at making Galaxy AI more useful across supported devices.
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S25 Edge update is around 3.4GB and carries firmware version S937NKSUADZIF, while the Galaxy S25 FE update for devices that participated in the beta programme is about 326MB, with firmware version S731NKSU9CZI5. The size difference is substantial, although the smaller S25 FE package is specifically being reported for beta participants rather than necessarily representing the size of every eventual installation package.
Samsung has started the rollout in South Korea, with availability in other markets expected to follow in stages. Samsung’s official rollout announcement says One UI 9 will continue expanding to additional eligible Galaxy phones and tablets in phases rather than arriving everywhere at once.
If you own a Galaxy S25 Edge or S25 FE, you can check whether the update has reached your phone by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it is not there yet, there is not much to do other than wait for Samsung to make the firmware available for your particular region and model.
The rollout also means Samsung has now moved another step into the Android 17 cycle for its 2025 flagship lineup. The Galaxy S25 series originally entered the One UI 9 beta programme in September, with Samsung making the beta available in selected markets including South Korea, India, the UK and US.
