When it launched its Phantom 9 flagship device back in September, Tecno enticed prospective buyers with a trade-in offer that saw it offer to exchange their old Tecno Spark, Camon or even Phantom devices for the Phantom 9.
The catch, then, was that the trade-in programme was in partnership with credit company Lipa Later which saw those whose devices qualified get the new Phantom and pay for it in instalments of at least Kshs 2,730.
Now, the Chinese device maker is adjusting things and making a similar pitch to its customers for its latest Camon series devices by allowing them to swap their old devices for some shiny new hardware.
The catch, here, is that only past Camon smartphones are eligible for the phone swap. Specifically, the Tecno Camon CM, Camon 11, Camon 11 Pro, Camon X and Camon X Pro.
All that one needs to do is go to their nearest CarlCare centre (a list of those near you can be obtained from the CarlCare application that comes pre-installed on the aforementioned eligible devices and which can also be downloaded from the Google Play Store). There, staff will evaluate the old Camon device to determine the subsidy that one is eligible for. If the valuation is agreeable to the customer, they can then go ahead and offset the balance to get their new Camon 12 series device.
According to a statement Tecno sent last evening, under the arrangement, one can pay as little as Kshs 4,316 if they opt to go for the Tecno Camon Air, providing savings of Kshs 9,183.
Those interested have until November 18th to swap the old for the new.
