At the start of the month, South Korean electronics giant LG announced the folding up of its mobile devices business.

Over the past two decades, LG has been a pioneer in key mobile technologies and a trendsetter in the smartphone space. When did the wind start beating it? Could LG’s mobile business have been saved? Was the writing always on the wall?

For such a big and visible brand, what does this mean for the future of mobile devices? For the smartphone industry we cover so much?

In episode 32 of the 24Bit podcast, Dickson, Nixon and myself explore these and other questions, as well as opinions and observations formed over years of covering LG Mobile and LG’s other divisions.
