Infinix’s latest smartphone, the Hot 10T, is officially available for purchase in the country.

The Infinix Hot 10T becomes the latest member of the Infinix Hot series to enter the local smartphone market.

This comes hot on the heels of the availability of the Infinix Hot 10 Play recently and, earlier on, the Infinix Hot 10 and Hot 10 Lite.

So, why should you pay attention to the Hot 10T?

For starters, it features a couple of exciting features. The performance, for instance, is upgraded from the Hot 10 Play’s Helio G35 chipset to the Helio G70 that we saw in a couple of lower mid-range devices last year. The end result is improved performance when doing things like gaming (up to 173% and 86% improvements in GPU and CPU performance, according to official figures).

Also, still going with the theme of many budget devices unveiled last year that were looking to make a wave in the market, this is the first Infinix Hot series smartphone with a high refresh-rate display.

As noted in our unboxing (see video below), the Infinix Hot 10T’s 6.8-inch HD+ display arrives with 90Hz refresh rate enabled straight out of the box. Of course, this can be disabled in favour of a more proactive approach (on when needed and back to the standard 60Hz when not needed) or, outrightly, just the standard refresh rate in order to save on the battery.

Talking about the battery, there is a massive 5,000mAh unit enclosed in the device that should last up to 2 days, depending on one’s usage and a fortnight on standby.

What many will admire is the focus on the device’s design which makes for a very good touch and feel on the back with the creative pattern going on at the back. Of course, there’s also the most noticeable upgrade of all: the 48-megapixel main camera at the back.

This features 240 frames per second slow-motion capture, the first eye-tracking auto-focus on the Hot series and more (like the super night mode capture which we will be testing) which are very complemented by the 8-megapixel selfie shooter’s AI portrait handling.

The Infinix Hot 10T comes in two storage size configurations, 64GB and 128GB, priced at Kshs 15,500 and Kshs 17,500 respectively. It is available in all authorized Infinix outlets countrywide as well as on Infinix’s e-commerce platform, Xpark Kenya.
