Telkom Kenya subscribers have something to smile about.

The network operator has today unveiled a lifetime offer dubbed Madaraka Life that will see all active Telkom Kenya subscribers rewarded with 1 gigabyte of data every month for life. The 1GB data will be accompanied by 100 minutes for making Telkom-to-Telkom calls every month, for life.

“This move follows Telkom’s announcement on the eve of this year’s Madaraka Day, when the company stated that it would be offering Kenyans an important access key to their own digital independence, for the Madaraka season, and beyond,” notes the telecommunications company in a statement.

“Madaraka Life is in line with the spirit of Madaraka; valuing Kenyan freedom – giving Kenyans the opportunity to pursue their goals and live their dreams thereby becoming truly independent,” Telkom Kenya CEO Mugo Kibati is quoted saying in the statement.

Telkom Kenya subscribers need to dial *444*58# on their phones in order to access the Madaraka Life lifetime offer.

Telkom Kenya plans to scale up its countrywide network coverage to be 80% 4G so as to adequately serve subscribers across the country with high-speed internet.

Last month, Telkom Kenya announced the integration of its mobile money service T-kash with the Kenya government’s digital services platform, eCitizen. The move has seen eCitizen users being able to access various national and county government services such as the application of passports, births and death certificates, business registrations, trading permits and services from various government agencies and pay for them using T-Kash.
