Android smartphones in the Kenyan market with eSIM support

Following up on our previous article covering how support for eSIM technology will herald a new age of connectivity in Kenya, we have rounded up the best Android phones in the country that currently support the technology.

  • Pixel 4, 4 XL, 4a 5G, 4a
  • Pixel 5, 5a
  • Pixel 6, 6 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro
  • Huawei P40, P40 Pro
  • Galaxy Fold
  • Galaxy Note 20 5G, Note 20 Ultra 5G
  • Galaxy S20 5G, S20+
  • Galaxy S21, S21+ 5G, S21+ Ultra 5G
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Z Flip
  • Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G

Devices in the above list will work flawlessly with eSIM providers in the country.

However, as new phones are being released every day, it is worth calling your provider before purchasing your next smartphone to make sure you will be able to enjoy the service with the Android device of your choice.

Safaricom eSIM

Given that Google’s Pixel smartphones are not sold in Kenya, at least on an official basis, and JTL, the other network operator, in addition to Safaricom, in Kenya with support for the technology, doesn’t sell devices, as a consumer in Kenya, you are left with Safaricom for ready devices that support the technology.
