More details are coming out regarding Samsung’s next major Unpacked event, expected to be held next month. The latest information comes from serial leaker Evan Blass on Twitter, who posted a leaked image showing the August 10th date alongside what appears to be a blurred image of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will almost certainly not be the only one getting a release on the 10th of August. The Galaxy Fold 4 which already had its renders leaked earlier in the year is almost guaranteed to make a presence as well as a few others.
It is interesting that from the leaked picture, it seems like Samsung has refrained from making significant changes to the Galaxy Flip 4. The same should therefore be expected for the Fold 4, as the company sticks to what made the Galaxy Fold 3 and Flip 3 to be wildly popular.
However, there are still some subtle changes made to the Flip 4 including the buttons being made slightly larger and more pronounced. The camera lenses are also slightly more protruding, which might be a hint that the imaging experience could have a massive improvement over the Flip 3. Finally, the body also appears to be slightly thicker, which might be a necessary compromise to accommodate a bigger battery that has also been rumoured for a while.
Shifting gears from the foldables, other rumours indicate that the next generation of Samsung smartwatches might also make an appearance at the event.
The Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro have also had their renders leaked earlier in the year, confirming that neither of them will feature a physically rotating bezel, which was a fan favourite among fans of the previous Galaxy Watch devices.
The Unpacked event by Samsung will certainly be held sometime in August. Whether the fateful day will be the 10th, and whether the rumoured devices featuring the improvements being discussed will be launched as expected, is where the uncertainty comes in.
However, Samsung currently has a largely unchallenged market when it comes to the foldables, with their foldables especially the Fold 3 and Flip 3 topping best-selling charts in this category. The same should therefore be expected for the Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4 at least until Apple releases their first foldable smartphone in 2025.
