AnTuTu, a popular benchmarking platform, has released the top 10 best-performing flagship phones for September, and there is a surprise. As you might expect, the list is populated by devices powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. However, at the top of the pile is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+, powering the gaming smartphone, Asus ROG Phone 6D.
The ROG Phone 6D edges out other high-performance smartphones like the OnePlus Ace Pro, Lenovo Legion Y70, and iQOO 10 Pro. A 286,017 CPU score by the ROG Phone 6D was enough to secure first place, while the RedMagic 7S Pro with a CPU score of 264,770 came second.
The ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro which are variants that are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset interestingly did not make the top 10. For comparison, the Snapdragon-powered ROG Phone 6 had a score of 261,483 clearly falling short of its MediaTek counterpart.
The ROG Phone 6D’s performance is attributed to not only its high running score but also its heat dissipation mechanics thanks to an exclusive cooling fan and a ‘sunroof’ which is a first in the smartphone space.
As already touched upon, the rest of the top ten is composed entirely of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered smartphones. Snapdragon’s muscle is also flexed on the GPU side, with all Snapdragon-powered devices in the top 10 outperforming the ROG Phone 6D’s score of 425,722
