Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi A1+ in Kenya on October 7th.
Officially announced just days ago, the Redmi A1+ is set to be the new poster child of affordable smartphones from the Chinese brand, taking over from where the Redmi 10A left.
The Redmi A1+ packs a 6.5-inch HD+ display, 2 or 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, an 8-megapixel main camera sensor that is part of a dual setup (the other being a 0.3-megapixel snapper), a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5,000mAh battery. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset and runs on MIUI 12 with Android 12 underneath.
Disappointingly, it has a microUSB port for charging and data transfer.
We do not have any details about the device’s pricing but we expect it to stay within the local sweet spot – at or below the Kshs 10,000 mark.
