Oppo is set to launch the latest version of its Reno series, the Reno8 series, in Kenya by the end of the month.
According to a statement from the company, the Oppo Reno8 series will launch in Kenya on October 25th.
As was the case with the Reno7 series, the Reno8 series comprises a 5G variant and a 4G variant.
The Oppo Reno8 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, an upgrade over the Dimensity 900 chipset from the same maker featured in the Reno7 5G and Reno6 5G.
The device also packs an 80W SuperVOOC fast charger which is coupled with Oppo’s Battery HealthEngine to provide an integrated hardware-software experience that guarantees accelerated charging rates and equally long battery life. An accompanying liquid cooling system helps mitigate the heat dissipation that is anticipated at such high charging speeds.
On the optics front are dual 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 (back) and 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 sensors, the latter bringing in over 64% more light and the former featuring the same as well as Oppo’s new generation RGBW sensor and 35% less noise. The noise, especially in low-light shots, is something that has been the bane of the Reno7 4G that we reviewed a while back.
The standard Reno8 (4G) keeps the same 33W fast charging that we have seen on its predecessors as well as the memory expansion feature that ensures that performance is not degraded.
We expect to hear more about the devices, especially pricing and availability information, at launch.
