It has been coming for a while, but finally, we have a release date for the new realme 10 series, variants that will be available at launch, a new rumour of another variant that will come later down the line as well as the official specs for the confirmed variants.
To start it all off, realme has just launched the realme 10, but there will be a bigger event for its Chinese audience on November 17th where it is expected the Realme 10 Pro+ as well as the 5G version of the vanilla Realme 10 will be unveiled.
The vanilla realme 10 (4G version) is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset and runs Android 12 out of the box. It has 4, 6 and 8GB RAM options. As a result, the configurations are as follows: 4GB RAM/64GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM/128GB onboard storage, 6GB RAM/128GB onboard storage, 8GB RAM/128GB onboard storage and 8GB RAM/256GB onboard storage.
The rear camera consists of a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP secondary sensor. There’s a 16-megapixel sensor on the front.
The 5G version of the realme 10 goes bigger in the camera department with a dual 108 MP camera. The device tops out at 6.7 inches featuring an LCD with Full HD+ resolution as well as fast charging for its 5,000 mAh battery which is similar to the vanilla version.
realme has not yet revealed what chipset the 5G version will feature, however, there are a few confirmed RAM/storage configurations, 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB
Taking a look at the Pro+ version, the smartphone also features the same 1080 MP camera, but it is likely that it will have OIS. The screen also gets a bump to a Super AMOLED at 120 Hz, while MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 is rumoured to be powering it.
realme 10 Pro+ also gets a boost in the charging speed up to 67W, but the battery capacity remains the same at 5,000 mAh. You also get quite a number of RAM/storage configurations here, 128GB/8GB RAM, 256GB/8GB RAM, 256GB/12GB RAM, 512GB/12GB RAM
Finally, you might think realme would stop at the 10 Pro+, but that does not appear to be the case. Leaker @UniverseIce on Weibo has posted that there might be another variant, the Realme 10 Ultra that will be released later on, featuring even more impressive specs.
According to the leaker, the unannounced realme 10 Ultra will boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship smartphone chipset, which should offer better performance than the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 in the 10Pro+
Furthermore, the leaker says the chipset will then be complemented with a generous helping of RAM, storage and battery which makes one think of 12GB+, 512GB+ and 5,000mAh+ respectively.
The upgrades do not stop there, as @Universelce says the realme 10 Ultra will feature PWM display dimming that operates at 2,160 Hz. Furthermore, the rear camera will get a bump up to a 200 MP sensor, however, he does not provide information regarding the selfie camera. He also fails to mention whether the Realme 10 Ultra will make its way outside China, which I tend to think will not happen.
