HMD Global has started selling its latest tablet, the Nokia T10, in Kenya.

The local availability of the Nokia T10 comes over a year since the first Nokia tablet, the Nokia T20, made its way.

The T10, however, is not exactly new having been launched mid-last year.

Like its older sibling, it focuses on basic features. Unlike its siblings, it comes in a more compact size that makes it, in the words of HMD Global, “Small enough for travel, big enough for daily entertainment”.

It packs an 8-inch 16:10 display HD+ (1280 x 800 pixels), a 2-megapixel camera on the front and an 8-megapixel camera at the back that is flanked by a rear flash LED, 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage (expandable using a microSD card up to 512GB) and a 5,250mAh battery unit (with 10W charging).

The tablet is powered by a Unisoc T606 chipset and runs on Android 12.

Since HMD Global is positioning the tablet for family entertainment alongside other use cases, it comes with ready certification for Netflix HD streaming (i.e. Widevine L1 support). That also means that Google Entertainment Space, a hub for all the TV show and movie streaming subscriptions, games and books, is also available on the device. As is Google Kids Space, which helps make devices such as tablets very kid-friendly with kids content being made easy to discover. Kids Space is, essentially, a “kids mode” on tablets.

It also has Nokia’s OZO tech for clear sound.

The device has an IPX2 rating meaning that it has limited resistance to water.

The Nokia T10 tablet is available for purchase at a price of Kshs 20,000.
